For his third exhibition at Mathew Liu Fine Arts, Thomas Canto complexifies the architectural quality of his work by establishing a processual connection with the history of abstract art. More specifically, the artist refers to the avant-gardes of geometric abstraction of the twentieth century. Therefore, the modernist architect and painter Le Corbusier is a central figure in this exhibition. While he revered painting, his impact on modernism was mainly as a ground-breaking architect, who devised the\u00a0Modulor<\/em>, a calculation of the average proportions of the male human body in relation to built spaces.\u00a0
\u00a0<\/p>

Pour sa troisi\u00e8me exposition \u00e0 Mathew Liu Fine Arts, Thomas Canto complexifie la qualit\u00e9 architecturale de son travail en \u00e9tablissant un lien processuel avec l\u2019histoire de l\u2019art abstrait. Plus pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment, l\u2019artiste fait r\u00e9f\u00e9rence aux avant-gardes de l\u2019abstraction g\u00e9om\u00e9trique du XXe si\u00e8cle. L\u2019architecte et peintre moderniste Le Corbusier est donc une figure centrale de cette exposition. Alors qu\u2019il v\u00e9n\u00e9rait la peinture, son impact sur le modernisme \u00e9tait principalement en tant qu\u2019architecte r\u00e9volutionnaire, qui a con\u00e7u le Modulor, un calcul des proportions moyennes du corps humain masculin par rapport aux espaces construits.<\/p>
